Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of the dbtempo platform operated by dbtempo ("we", "us"). By creating an account, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Account and eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract. You are responsible for the security of your credentials, including API keys generated for the CLI client. Sharing API keys outside your organization is a material breach.

2. Database access and credentials

Where your credentials live depends on the connection method you choose. With the dbtempo agent, the agent runs inside your environment and reads database credentials from its local configuration; those credentials stay in your environment and are not sent to us. With a managed direct or SSH connection, you supply the credentials our managed runner needs to reach the database on your behalf, and we store them encrypted at rest under AES-256-GCM — this includes the database password and, for SSH, the private key and passphrase. We use them only to perform collection and any change you have authorized under section 3.

3. What we receive for analysis

Collection submits query statistics, example query text, schema and index metadata, execution plans, and database configuration. Where you connect a repository, we fetch and retain the specific file spans needed to locate the queries we analyze; we do not clone or retain your full repository. Raw table rows are never part of a collection payload. Content you paste into a thread is sent through the analysis pipeline as you submitted it, so do not paste secrets or row data. Collection is read-only: dbtempo writes to your database only through the capabilities you explicitly enable under section 4.

4. Auto mode

Where you enable "auto mode", you authorize dbtempo to execute pre-approved migration categories against your designated database during your declared maintenance window. You may pause auto mode at any time and we will halt within sixty (60) seconds of the request.

5. Acceptable use

You will not use dbtempo to (a) attempt to reverse engineer or scrape other customers' data; (b) test the platform's resilience without prior written agreement; or (c) generate content that violates applicable law.

6. Subscription and billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance. Refunds are not issued for partial months except where required by applicable law. Your plan includes a monthly credit allowance that resets at the start of each billing period: unused allowance does not carry over and has no cash value. Credits you buy separately as a top-up pack are not part of that allowance, do not expire, and are not affected by a reset, a plan change, or a cancellation. Where you hold both, your monthly allowance is always spent first.

7. Termination

Either party may terminate at any time. Upon termination you retain read access to export your data for 30 days. After that period, data is deleted per our retention schedule.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, dbtempo's aggregate liability shall not exceed the amounts paid by you in the twelve months preceding the claim.
